Alyson's Journey
Alyson was born in the Zhiqiang, China. At 6 months of age, she was found abandoned and was delivered to an orphanage. Nothing was known about her birth parents. When Alyson was a child she was adopted by a family from the United States. She has a history of significant congenital scoliosis and diastematomyelia. She was seen by Dr. John Smith at age five, and was treated with the VEPTR device. Since then she has had multiple VEPTR surgeries. Alyson is now a beautiful teenage girl who lives in Parker, CO.
